    BLACKkKLANSMAN

    August 10, 2018 /

Tinsel & Tine’s look at A Spike Lee Joint  Fans of the Dave Chappelle show, can’t help but think about his hilarious skit involving Clayton Bigsby, the blind KKK leader who didn’t know he was black, when hearing about the premise of Spike Lee’s BlackkKlansman, which tells the true story of a black cop infiltrating the KKK in the 70’s in Colorado, and lives to tell the tale. Philadelphia Welcomes RACE Movie & Stephan James

    February 21, 2016 /

Cavalcade of Mutants: X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

    May 24, 2014 /

My new favorite Mutant is Quicksilver (Evan Peters).  He's super, crazy fast, so much so he has time to not only stop a bullet, but play with it during its trajectory. The rescue of Eric/Magneto from the Pentagon features the crackerjack, swiftness of Quicksilver, at the end of the scene the audience at my screening exploded into loud clapping appreciation.

    August 9, 2013 /

Documentary Inspires Philly’s Forgotten to Unite, Take Action By Tinsel & Tine Contributor Christopher “Flood the Drummer”® Norris A few sniffled; many cried; but ALL of the more than 40 concerned citizens inside the small but inviting South Philly Vietnamese temple were glued to the screen as they watched A Village Called Versailles  a film by S. Leo Chiang that tells the story of one Viet community’s political awakening in the aftermath of the costliest storm in U.S history. The films focuses on a tight-knit group of Vietnamese Americans in a New Orleans neighborhood called Versailles, who overcame obstacles to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, only to have their homes…
