The Rittenhouse Hotel Interview – Lee Daniels & Cuba Gooding, Jr: LEE DANIELS’ THE BUTLER
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Since April, anxiety has been my constant companion. I’ve been out of work and living on my savings, trying to figure out how to make what I love, writing this blog and the social media aspects of it, what I do. I’m no closer to figuring it all out, but sometimes you get a sign from the Universe that says you’re on the right track, keep going! That sign came in the form of an email from Allied-THA which asked me if I’d want to interview director Lee Daniels, actor Cuba Gooding, Jr and actress Yaya Alafia at the swanky Rittenhouse Hotel, to discuss Lee…

Four Seasons Philadelphia Interview: Ryan Coogler: FRUITVALE STATION
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I knew nothing about the true events which Fruitvale Stationis based upon – I’m sure the controversial racial implications of OscarGrant’s death reached the East Coast, but sometimes I go undergroundnews wise for weeks at a time, and when I emerge, I don’t go back to findout what I missed. I do however pay attention during theSundance Film Festival. And when I read about Fruitvale Station, winning so much praise, I thought, how dramatic can it be? We know theguy dies. However, I’ve met very few, where I can see in their eyes and from their body language and facial expressions, the look of cynicism. Many are passionate, yet because the odds seem very much not in their favor in this merciless business, you begin to notice more of the jaded, the cynical,…

Will You Stop Eating Cupcakes! – THIS IS 40
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor If I had realized the characters in Judd Apatow’s This Is 40, were the same couple from Knocked Up, I would not have gone to see this movie. I hated Alison’s (Katherine Heigl’s) annoying, abrasive, argumentative sister and brother-in-law. My amnesia is not surprising considering Knocked Up is on my list of “never need to see again movies” – just did not see the funny. I did however, really like the trailer for This Is 40, and not only did the trailer do the movie justice – for a change, there are heaps more funny scenes and lines than the trailer shows! Most importantly, Debbie…
