Philly Magazine/ Foobooz – Philly Cooks RECAP

So if you follow me on social media at all, you will have noticed I created a mini campaign leading up to Foobooz | Philadelphia Magazine’s Philly Cooks event, which sold out!  The event was held Wed 2/19 at The Marriott Hotel at 12th & Market Sts. I’m glad I got the opportunity to market this event as there are so many restaurants in Philly I know nothing about, many of which participated in Philly Cooks; this way, I got a chance to at least get a glimpse into their specialties and restaurant backgrounds. Foodie Doc: SPINNING PLATES

Grant doesn't so much cook or create food for Alinea, he masterminds it.  It's all about presentation and aroma and atmosphere.  Behind the scenes at Alinea, far more resembles a laboratory than a kitchen. Bahama Breeze Blogger’s Tasting

I’m always giddy when I get invites to events and screenings from unfamiliar PR Agencies; because it means what little I understand and try to make happen in terms of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is working! Philly Dining Tid”bite”- Charles Plaza

Friday night had dinner in Chinatown with friends who chose Charles Plaza as our Asian culinary destination. Not much in terms of decor, but the servers and owner – very attentive. The restaurant specializes in vegetarian Chinese cuisine and the dishes are prepared without MSG or heavy sauces. For instance the sesame noodles have just a light coating. Of course, personally, I like a heavy, sticky, fattening peanut butter Thai sauce, but it’s nice to now and again enjoy something without the guilt. Steamed Chicken Dumplings: Good density and flavor – 3 Tines. Fish of the day: Never has Tilapia been so satisfying! Crunchy, meaty and smothered in garlic sauce…

    Philly Restaurant – Derek’s (Manayunk)

My sister loves trying restaurants equally as much as I do, so whether I visit her, she comes home or we go on vacation together, dining out is going to be the main agenda. The meal we shared at Derek’s (4411 Main St) was in celebration of our birthdays which come a month apart. It was also a chance to try out Restaurant.com. With Restaurant.com you can purchase a $25 gift certificate online cheaply, between $2 -$5, then you check the list of participating restaurants; which doesn’t include every new Center City hotspot, but it’s a pretty extensive listing. And then print the gift certificate for the chosen establishment. Here’s…
