    Wonder Woman 1984 – December 25, 2020

    December 23, 2020 /

Update 12/24/2020 See Tinsel & Tine Review of WONDER WOMAN 1984 Original Post: 9/12/2020 Director Patty Jenkins added, “First and foremost let me say how much Gal and I love all our devoted Wonder Woman fans around the world, and your excitement for ‘WW84’ couldn’t make us happier or more eager for you to see the movie. Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience together, I’m hopeful you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer. With the new date on Christmas Day, we can’t wait to spend the holidays with you!”…

    JOKER

    October 6, 2019 /

I’m impressed with JOKER, yes, but still having trouble, as Joaquin Phoenix puts it in this interview – “finding something real” or original to say. Does it glorify these lone killers who tend to be white men on the fringes of society? Is it too inciting during a time when the country is even more divided and in political mayhem? On the other hand, does director Todd Phillips (co-writer Scott Silver) find a way to shine a light on these people who have been abused, are weird and ostracized, cut off from kindness, cut off from getting help as social programs shut down. This film could be seen as a…

    SHAZAM!

    April 5, 2019 /

Directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi as a 14-year-old kid in a grown man’s superpower enhanced body. Loved this concept, just wished his Shazam personality and his Billy Batson (Asher Angel) personalities were a little more well matched. Even if Billy didn’t have the weight of the world hanging on his shoulders as a foster kid constantly running away to look for his real mom – he still wouldn’t be as childishly goofy and gleeful as he becomes when he’s Shazam. However, it’s this goof that makes the movie very fun and wonderfully silly. I think it’s ironic that although Disney owns Marvel, these last two D.C.…

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

    March 28, 2016 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I think most of us would agree, although the movie’s opening scene takes place at the crux of the battle which occurred in Superman: Man of Steel (click for T&T post) Batman V Superman is really another Batman (Ben Affleck) flick, with a Superman (Henry Cavil) guest starring role and a Wonder Woman cameo.  Gal Godot, by the way, is okay. I like that she’s of indeterminate race, and she looked fierce fighting Lex Luthor’s Doomsday… but Linda Carter with her amazing figure and sparkling eyes will always represent Wonder Woman for me. Director Zack Snyder states, “We felt an interesting way of beginning this story was to examine…
