PHLAFF -Mexican Filmmaker Carlos Meléndez 

The PHILADELPHIA LATINO ARTS & FILM FESTIVAL produces events and screenings from May 25 – July 6, 2025.  Sadly, I only managed to get to one event, and missed the intended screening entirely.  I wasn’t aware there were two PHLAFF rooms at Fleisher Art Memorial going on at the same time, one upstairs and one downstairs.  By the time I asked someone when would Meléndez horror shorts play? I had missed them screening upstairs.  But I got there in time to hear his Talkback moderated by my new friend, Erick Barragán Ramírez of CINEPAMINA.
