Philadelphia-based award-winning feature documentary A WOMAN ON THE OUTSIDE premieres on PBS this Thursday March 28th!
“A Woman on the Outside” will be on air and streaming starting March 28 at 8/7c on America Reframed via your local PBS WORLD station, WORLD’s YouTube and website and on your smart TV.
The film opens “Liberated Lives,” WORLD’s new collection of films that centers on the stories of incarcerated people and returning citizens. These documentaries offer a kaleidoscopic look at how the carceral system ripples through families and communities.
For eight (!) years, we’ve collaborated with Kristal and her family to make this film. We all grew up watching PBS, and one of Kristal’s dreams was to see her story on TV. We’re thrilled that her story is one that WORLD and America ReFramed chose to share.
Kristal always hoped to spark a conversation about how prisons impact the lives of women across the country. Help us spread the word!
Tune in! You can stream on PBS WORLD’s YouTube or watch on your local WORLD channel
