There’s hardly an industry that hasn’t been affected by the Pandemic, but the film/movie industry has been truly hard hit across the board, and close to home. I’m glad to see The Philadelphia Film Society (PFS) COVID-19 Fundraiser taking off, as it would be devastating to our city if when life returns to normal they were no longer around. (Worried about the Ritz Landmark Theaters in Philly too).
For those that don’t know, PFS produces The Philadelphia Film Festival each year. (See below for Tinsel & Tines Coverage of the 28th Annual) but they also do so much more, providing year-round programming and community outreach via their venues The Philadelphia Film Center (formerly Prince Theater) and The Roxy Theater.

To Our Friends and Community,
We want to thank you for supporting the Philadelphia Film Society.
You can directly supported our mission of creating opportunities for diverse communities to experience film through initiatives that inspire, educate, challenge and entertain. As well as helped us continue our commitment to presenting film as a transformative and powerful medium for artistic expression and a catalyst for strengthening community.
The Film Society’s Save Our Screens campaign is off to a strong start! Within the first several days of the 14-day campaign, we received over 200+ donations and raised just over $37,000 toward our goal of $150,000 by July 19.
We hope with your help – we can keep the momentum going!

Word of mouth has been critically important to the early success of the campaign, but we still have a long way to go. With this in mind, we ask that you share our message with your friends and family. Share on Facebook | Share on Twitter
In Addition, PFS is producing a VIRTUAL SUMMERFEST FILM FESTIVAL (July 17-19, 2020) featuring many of the most talked about films that were set to premiere at several Film Festivals and some of which did screen at Sundance 2020
