PFS Spring Preview Film Festival
So, as sad as it was that Philadelphia Cinema Alliance had to shelf CineFest this spring; Philly film buffs will still have a chance to enjoy a mini spring Film Festival through Philadelphia Film Society sponsored by Pennsylvania Hospital. (See attached below Press Release)
The weekend festival begins Friday, April 9th at 5pm with 11 “FREE” films in all.

The only problem I see is that I have not been granted a press pass:( There’s no better feeling than arriving 15min before a screening, bypassing every other regular filmgoer in line, flashing an all access badge and sauntering into the theater. Understandably, Non-PFS members are limited to 4 tickets to this mini-festival. I envision it being a scramble to get online early enough on Mon 3/26, to order tickets to the films I really want to see. Of course, if I get shut out for pre-ordering, there’s always the ignominious rush line.
I’m most looking forward to seeing The Joneses with Demi Moore and David Duchovny only I wish it was screening earlier than 10pm (4/10)!
A seemingly perfect couple (Moore and Duchovny) move into an upscale gated community with their equally perfect teenagers (Heard and Hollingsworth). The Joneses have better goods and game than any other family in town. The only problem is they’re not a family — they are employees of a stealth marketing organization, and they know how to make everyone else want what they’ve got.
There is great variety among the 11 films chosen; and I of course will do my best to see as many as possible and report back, so stay tuned!
