XPN Music Film Festival Round Up 2013
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor The XPN Music Film Festival was the second collaboration of the radio station WXPN/and Philly music venue World Cafe Live produced by The Philadelphia Film Society. I got to a few more screenings last year (XPN Music Film Fest 2012), just kinda dipped in and out this year, but what I experienced was worth while! Opening Night was Thursday April 11th- You can’t go wrong opening with something Beatles inspired. In a post apocalyptic world (click for T & T Oblivion post) all that will be left are cockroaches dancing to The Beatles. Honestly though, the opening night film GOOD OL’ FREDA (Director Ryan White)…

Blog Contributor: 42 Hits a Home Run! (Jackie Robinson Story)
by Christopher “Flood the Drummer”® Norris I recently posted an ad on Tinsel & Tine for a male blog contributor. I felt there were some testosterone driven films not being covered on account of me not being eager to write about them; and also thought perhaps any male readers might enjoy another perspective from time to time. The Sapphires is not only different because the girls are Australian Aborigines, with a white Irish screw up as their mentor/manager (Chris O’Dowd). It’s different because it just hits every beat and note to perfection and I’m not talking about the Soul soundtrack. Gail (Deborah Mailman)…

Spotlight: New Filmmaker Koran Dunbar – Greencastle
He's done everything by faith, luck, talent, perseverance and perhaps a little stupidity. Much of which he wrote and directed into Greencastle, in which he plays the lead, Poitier, a black man living in Greencastle PA, who's a single father and just kinda out of sync with life. He earns his living working at a pet store, while attending a 2 year online program to earn a certificate in animal care.

Paranormal Parody – A Haunted House
@marlonlwayans #AHauntedHouse is a bad title, too generic, no black people are gonna call it this, why didn't u just go with Paranormal Blacktivity? Ur writing is raunchy, juvenile, stupid, racial and ridiculous yet I LOL'd so much in spite of myself. This movie will find it's core audience and they'll be lovin :-D the whole thing!
