AMERICAN ULTRA
If I Were A Sleeper Agent AMERICAN ULTRA By Tinsel & Tine Editor, Le Anne Lindsay If I were a sleeper agent, God forbid they station me in some podunk town working in a mini-mart, until I’m possibly activated. I’d need to be enjoying a glam existence of chic couture, world travel, good food and a semi-high profile cover, like a celebrated artist or clothing designer. When activated, kicking ass as a killing machine, would never do, I’d like to become a master manipulator, gaining access to people in places of power and bending their will to mine. In AMERICAN ULTRA, Mike Howell (Jesse Eisenberg) has no such luck, he’s…

Contributor Diane Roka: THE END OF THE TOUR
The End of the Tour: More of an Essay than a Review By Tinsel & Tine Contributor and Illustrator Diane Roka When I was a kid in the 70’s, I would sit on the carpeted floor of our tiny local library (housed in a suburban mini-mall), wearing a tube top, denim gauchos, clogs and a feathered hairdo, and pore over a box of the latest Rolling Stone magazines. Martin Luther King had just been assassinated, racial tensions were running high, and Harriet was raised in a family that believed that when something very wrong takes place, you do something about it. Harriet had been a schoolteacher, and was now home raising her three children. Her whole family were big Peanuts fans — there were posters on the…

Keeping Up with the Marvel Universe: ANT-MAN
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor T&T’s Look at Marvel Cinematic Universe:ANT-MAN I was reading about the comic book version of ANT-MAN and it seems although certainly not your household superhero, he does go back quite a ways – actually, a founding member of The Avengers. Ant-Man’s alter-ego is Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) a brilliant scientist, possibly more brilliant than Tony Stark (Iron Man) or his father, yet that seems to be in some debate. Dr. Pym specializes in “Alice in Wonderland” like technology of shrinking and enlarging people and objects, done by manipulating the space between atoms and such. His wife Janet was also a superhero called the Wasp,…

A Revlock Review: AMY
Kapaida’s documentary succeeds in simultaneously humanizing the artist and legitimizing her art. Early home videos reveal the singer’s passion, whimsicality, and wit, strengths that were already dissipating by the time Winehouse entered the public eye...
