Lee (The Best Man and THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY) but still I worried that the movie would fall flat, that it wouldn’t have cross over appeal both to other races…

Coppola says she didn’t want to deal with issues of race, that she didn’t feel qualified, which I understand; and I feel even though the movie takes place during the Civil War, there can still be stories told about people affected by the war, but it not be directly about the issue of slavery.
