The Happy Sad – LeRoy McClain Interview
So here’s yet another coincidence, I saw the film The Happy Sad during QFEST (Philly’s LGBT film festival) and went to the after party, where I talked to one of the stars of the movie LeRoy McClain. I remember thinking, I should be interviewing him, but it’s too loud in here and I’m sure he just wants to chill right now. I started to give him my card and ask him to contact me later for an interview, but I let the moment pass. Documentary: TWENTY FEET FROM STARDOM
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor One of my early on fantasies was to either sass my way through “Hit the Road Jack” as a Raelette, backing up the great Ray Charles. Or grove with the ultimate R&B legend, Luther Vandross, who left us way too soon. Or believe it or not, really wanted to harmonize with Reba McEntire, you’d be amazed at how many of her songs from the 90’s I know by heart. XPN Music Film Festival Round Up 2013
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor The XPN Music Film Festival was the second collaboration of the radio station WXPN/and Philly music venue World Cafe Live produced by The Philadelphia Film Society. I got to a few more screenings last year (XPN Music Film Fest 2012), just kinda dipped in and out this year, but what I experienced was worth while! Opening Night was Thursday April 11th- You can’t go wrong opening with something Beatles inspired. In a post apocalyptic world (click for T & T Oblivion post) all that will be left are cockroaches dancing to The Beatles. Honestly though, the opening night film GOOD OL’ FREDA (Director Ryan White)…
