Favorite Films of 2012 and Favorite Posts of 2012

Candyland White Cake Showdown: DJANGO UNCHAINED
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I always say I would have enjoyed the Antebellum South were it not for the total degradation, abomination and heinous practice of slavery. However, I like to imagine taking color and race out of the equation and instead put in robots or an alien race who truly live to serve. Then, I couldpicture myself with a pretty sweet life of sipping mint juleps on a colonnade porch, attending balls in fancy gowns, sleeping in the afternoon heat and entertaining suitors in the parlor. Will You Stop Eating Cupcakes! – THIS IS 40
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor If I had realized the characters in Judd Apatow’s This Is 40, were the same couple from Knocked Up, I would not have gone to see this movie. I hated Alison’s (Katherine Heigl’s) annoying, abrasive, argumentative sister and brother-in-law. My amnesia is not surprising considering Knocked Up is on my list of “never need to see again movies” – just did not see the funny. I did however, really like the trailer for This Is 40, and not only did the trailer do the movie justice – for a change, there are heaps more funny scenes and lines than the trailer shows! Much todo about hot dogs: Hyde Park on Hudson
How could anyone seduce the President of the United States wearing oxfords, long printed frocks and spinster cardigan sweaters? Even if said President was crippled by polio and the year is 1939. Yet Margaret “Daisy” Suckley (Laura Linney) dressed thusly, and became Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s (Bill Murray) intimate confident and companion during a major portion of his life.
