But when Reda loses their hard-earned cash to his dangerous drug addiction, Chatila hatches an extreme plan, which involves them posing as smugglers and taking hostages in an effort to get him and his best friend out of their hopeless environment before it is too late....

PHLAFF -Mexican Filmmaker Carlos Meléndez
The PHILADELPHIA LATINO ARTS & FILM FESTIVAL produces events and screenings from May 25 – July 6, 2025. Sadly, I only managed to get to one event, and missed the intended screening entirely. I wasn’t aware there were two PHLAFF rooms at Fleisher Art Memorial going on at the same time, one upstairs and one downstairs. By the time I asked someone when would Meléndez horror shorts play?
