THE SQUARE with director Nash Edgerton Q&A

    April 11, 2010 /

Carla decides this is the perfect opportunity for escape with Ray, she proposes they steal the money and hire an arsonist to make it look like the house happened to catch on fire. But Ray's a normal guy, nothing gangster about him, he may be willing to cheat on his wife with a younger woman, but he's not looking for real trouble, so he turns Carla down, at first...

    Foodie Film: I AM LOVE

    April 10, 2010 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor The Phila Film Fest Spring Preview opened with a beautiful Italian film, I Am Love (Io sono l’amore) Director/Writer Luca Guadagnino this film is a truly wonderful example of food in film. Small observation, perhaps the programming director, Michael Lerman could elaborate a bit more on his take and reasons for the film choices when introducing the films. I think festival goers enjoy any insider type info, I know I do!...

    Commentary – Computer Love

    April 9, 2010 /

As is often the case, Tinsel & Tine goes through posting feast or famine. This weekend begins the Philadelphia Film Society Spring Preview Film Festival, sponsored by Pennsylvania Hospital, and by coincidence a new acquaintance, Harwood Duncan, (pictured) (see Cafe Centennial post) had his film premiere for a film called Computer Love Thursday night, so my weekend of screening got off to an early start! You can’t so much as own a hot dog stand without having a facebook page anymore; the reason being, it is an amazing marketing/promotional tool. The film’s producers told me it was how they got the word out and IHouse (350+ seats) was packed! Plus,…

I like when people send me things to promote on Tinsel & Tine, it’s important to have variety, not just a series of me reviewing films and restaurants. Even though the below press release and video is technically TV or rather WebTV, this new East meets West talk show will feature international celebrities, and as we all know, most actors do the talk show rounds in order to promote their latest film, so we come to Tinsel & Tine. New York, NY – March 26, 2010 – What do you get when you mix celebrity, China, an award winning host who is a former Disney executive and a mega television…
