BlackStar Film Festival is celebrating it's 10th year with both in-person and for virtual screenings and events. It’s a major turning point for a festival that has come to be recognized as a significant celebration of the visual and storytelling traditions of the African diaspora, as well as of global communities of color. BlackStar Film Festival always turns out to be one of the highlights of my summer. I may not have fully covered all 10, but I've always attended at least a screening or opening night party.
