Le Bec Fin Celebrates 40th Anniversary

I do try to read blogs, feeds, tweets etc… about food and film happenings in Philly, but something inevitably gets by me, so it was a stroke of luck that I happened upon the sidewalk celebration taking place at Le Bec Fin (1523 Walnut Street). Chef George Perrier and his entire staff were joyously celebrating the landmark restaurant’s 40th Anniversary. There was banging of pots and pans, clapping, and best of all, elegant bite-sized morsels of deliciousness were being served on silver platters. Perrier himself was wielding a saber as a bottle opener, popping open the celebratory bottle of champagne with a flair!

Suddenly I remembered I was carrying my new Tinsel & Tine Messenger Bag, and inside was my camera and digital voice recorder. So I was able to snap these couple of pics and ask the chef for a blog comment. Click on the WMA file below to listen.
