Making Film in Philly Panel (19th Philly Film Fest)
I made it to The Philadelphia Film Festival “Making Film in Philly” Panel Discussion (Four Points by Sheraton), in time to enjoy coffee and TastyKakes. The panel was amazing! Bob Lowerly & Andy Williams– Dive Shooter (Visual effects and Post Production), Justin Weinberg, Entertainment Lawyer, Thomas Ashley, President of Philadelphia Soundstage, Wendy Cox Hollywood Production Manager, Sharon Pinkenson, Executive Director of Greater Philadelphia Film Office.
These individuals really love the film industry and had A LOT of stories to share about working with actors, how they got into the industry, the hard work and stick-to-it-ness necessary to break into the industry and why they love being a part of making film in Philadelphia – “The Film Industry is an incredibly satisfying industry because we work on projects that have finite beginnings and finite endings. We work very hard and at the end of the project we are exhausted and we go home and cry; but then when we see it on the big screen or the small screen there’s a credit roll, and on that credit roll we see our name and when your name is on it you can say “I did that”! How many people have jobs where they can say that? – Sharon Pinkenson
Note: Another panel discussion is scheduled for tomorrow (Sun 10/17 12noon).

I'm disappointed I missed this and hope they plan to do something like this again during next year's festival. I would love to hear what some of these people had to say. There was a good mix from all different areas of film!

Great Thanks! This was an older post, during the Philadelphia Film Festival, the days events are all combined into one post, but now that films seen during the festival like "Black Swan" and "Blue Valentine" are hitting theaters, I went back and separated the content.
I now look forward to following Best of Blogs Philadelphia!
