Philly Spotlight: VENDY AWARDS Recap 2015

 Highlight: Vendy Awards Philadelphia 2015

This was my 2nd year attending the Philadelphia Vendy Awards (click for T&T 2014). And although I knew I had a big wedding to go to that evening, I still made a pig of myself and tried something from almost every booth.  But how else are you going to vote honestly otherwise?

The Vendy Awards is an annual (5th Annual for Philly) street food competition series that determines the “best of the best” in street food. Each year thousands of guests eagerly purchase tickets to sample food from publicly nominated vendors. The winners are chosen by event ticket holders as well as a panel of celebrity judges that includes chefs, television personalities and city officials. Proceeds benefit The Food Trust and The Philadelphia Mobile Food Association.

This year’s competing trucks included:

VendyCup Contestants –
@foolishwaffles @MomMomNomNom @ButterFoodTruck @mixinbowltruck

Rookie of the year Contestants –
@Philly_Fry @SeoulFullPhilly @JerrysFoodTruck @RigatonisMobile @LasOlasPhilly

Dessert Contestants –
@Sweetlavender14 @UndrgrndDonuts @jimmiescupcakes @LusciousBakery @cakeladeee

Here’s a little slideshow from the Philadelphia Vendy Awards, with CAPTIONS and TINE RATINGS: (Excellent – 4 Tines / * Great – 3 Tines  / * Good – 2 Tines / * Fair – 1 Tine / * Poor – Tarnished ) Be sure to watch with the music and choose full screen!

Note: shortly after I arrived, I must have dripped something on my lens, but I didn’t realize, as I was taking pictures blindly with the sun too bright to see my screen. So anything with a little blurry spot is not because I was trying to pixelate.
