Screening: Sunday, May 18th 4:15pm (PFS Bourse)Tickets

Film Synopsis: In Florida-based filmmaker Noah Salzman’s raw, emotional debut feature, Adolfo Rivera (Germain Arroyo) is an 18-year-old, undefeated boxer from a conservative Catholic family in Miami. Adolfo’s love for this tight knit-knit family is apparent, not just in their time spent together, but in the bruises and broken bones they are willing to endure time and time again in order to help the family pay their bills. While Adolfo may be remarkably talented in the ring, the family’s dreams for their devoted son are far different from what Adolfo has in mind. Adolfo is secretly saving their winnings for the biggest fight of their life; self-acceptance in their desire to transition into a woman. The local drag scene becomes a fortuitous, vibrant sanctuary for Adolfo on this journey of self-acceptance that is forged in blood, sweat and sequins.
