Tinsel & Tine: ANNUAL OSCARS ROUND UP 2012

    February 27, 2012 /

Tradition may be safe, but not necessarily boring. Billy Crystal was the go to, tried and true choice to host The 84th Annual Academy Awards (9th x) after the Brett Ratner "gay slur"  firing and subsequent pull out of Eddie Murphy as host...

    Commentary – THIS MEANS WAR

    February 18, 2012 /

My screening of This Means War was courtesy of and reviewed for Cinedelphia Take a little True Lies, mix in a dash of Mr. & Mrs Smith, add a touch of Ocean’s Eleven and then half-bake and you’ve got a mildly entertaining, McG romantic, spy comedy. This Means War stars Reese Witherspoon as the lucky lady being courted by two super cute spies. Of course Reese’s character, Lauren thinks she’s just dating two super cute guys.  Lauren is an executive at a consumer products research firm, who lately has had a run of bad luck or no luck in the romance department.  Her older, married friend, Trish (Chelsea Handler) decides…

    Commentary – The Vow

    February 11, 2012 /

What drew me in, is an underlining theme which explores do-overs. When Paige wakes up from her comma, she can remember who she is, how to walk, talk, eat - however, she's lost the last 5 years of her life.  She believes she lives at home with her wealthy, polished parents (Jessica Lange and Sam Neill), she's in law school and about to marry a handsome, business-minded guy from her social set (Scott Speedman).

    Commentary – BIG MIRACLE

    February 4, 2012 /

by Le Anne Lindsay – originally written for CINEDELPHIA I truly enjoyed this movie!  Yes, it’s my aim to accentuate the positive in all my film write ups, but this is not me trying to be upbeat. I really would like to see Big Miracle do well because it works. Not because of the whole “save the whales” thing. I am not an animal activist and I don’t give to Greenpeace.  I respect all God’s creatures, cause they’re here and we’re here sharing the same space; but otherwise I don’t give em much thought.  In fact, I don’t remember anything about this whole story going viral in 1988; well, back…
